Hi, I'm Kels!

The Best Sourdough Glazed Donuts

This year I made a goal to utilize an actual planner, instead of trying (and failing) to keep everything in my phone. I bought a Write Stuff Planner and have loved using it for my weekly planning sessions.

Planning things out has never been my strong suit. I love making lists and crossing things off. I am one of those people who does something, then adds it to the list JUST so that I can have the satisfaction of crossing it off!

This year is going to be a big one. I have some major projects, a new side venture , and the regular stuff that goes along with having four small children! That is why I made planning one of my biggest priorities and goals. My friend Monica (who has a blog and amazing podcast, HERE) posted on Instagram all about these planners, and it looked perfect for me.

The design is simple, yet well thought out. There is a month overview which I love, and each day as well. There are motivating quotes for each week and places to write out your goals. The Write Stuff Planning people gave me exactly what I wanted!

I also keep a small notebook in my bag with me always to jot down post ideas, people to contact, companies to get back to, things my kids need, groceries, etc.

Each week on Sunday evening when our children are in bed, my husband and I sit down at the kitchen table to plan. He uses a bullet journal system that he loves, and I use my planner. We go over our week together.

I like doing this together because then there aren’t as many surprises! Sure, we could probably have our icalendars synced or whatever the cool kids are doing these days, but I love sitting and having that time to think and write things out.

Mine is color coded so that at a glance I can distinguish between blog, business, family, and church. It’s a pretty simple method, but it works for me right now. I use these papermate pens.

We discuss what our kids need from us, what we should eat that week, how/when we can spend time together on a date or reserving our weekend nights for such, what activities we need to attend (who takes the oldest to basketball, etc).

It’s a great time to figure things out, feel better about Monday morning when it rolls around, and get focused on our family and our goals for an hour.

My favorite part is that we end up staying at the table all evening discussing dreams and plans. We have many, they are big, and they all start in little bits by figuring out TODAY.

If you want your own Write Stuff Planner, they are on sale right now on Amazon and with my discount code you can get an additional 10% off: SLBKPLAN

This code is good through MONDAY FEBRUARY 20. Go get planning!!!

How do you plan? Do you plan weekly? Monthly? DAILY?
