Hey, There!
I’m Kels.
HELLO!
Welcome. If you are reading this page, consider yourself part of the family!
I decided to create a little blog-space 9 years ago, after annoying my friends and family with health/food posts on my private family blog ;). I needed a space to talk about my thoughts on real food ingredients and healing through food. For years I posted about ingredients and gut health and recipes. But as with most humans, I evolved and so did my thoughts and opinions, and now, this space! This is my disclaimer – if you find something in the recesses of this site, check the date they were posted and just know that this website is a journal of my changing ideas over the years.
I am not the same girl who posted 5 years ago. Isn’t growth amazing?
I went from a certified food snob to an intuitive eater who let go of the anal ingredient list reading for more of a balance in my life and with my family. Plus, I just missed chocolate and the occasional Dr Pepper.
I started this blog talking about juicing, because I LOVE the benefits and my husband and I still juice to this day. Then I started baking with sourdough, was diagnosed gluten intolerant, and dove deeper to the benefits of sourdough so that I could still eat bread.
An obsession ignited and I started creating recipes and teaching classes to make sourdough simplified and more accessible to more people! It truly became a major part of my life and my favorite hobby. You can learn more about my sourdough love story, HERE.
The reason I started this blog more than anything, was to teach. I have a passion for sourdough, safer beauty products, changing your mindset to create the life you want, and mentoring others. If it will make you happier and healthier, I am all about it.
Dreaming Big
Three and a half years ago I switched my shampoo. A simple thing, but it ended up changing my life. I realized how much quality products made a difference in how I felt. I started swapping out other things in my personal care routine to safer options without any of the nasty stuff. I talk a lot about my favorite personal care products a lot. This includes deodorant, lotions, body soap, oral care, skincare, haircare, and more!
My mission is to help women change their lives through online business and the right community and mentorship. I find it extremely rewarding seeing others succeed. I am passionate about mindset and growth, and share my own journey and what’s worked for me to go from a one income household in student loan debt, no savings, four small children, and not enough paycheck at the end of the month, to running a successful 6 figure business from my phone helping other women create purpose and another stream of income for their families sharing products they love.
If you want to chat more about this with me, my inbox is always open!
For a long time this space sat untouched. I was in a huge state of shifting and wasn’t sure what to share. But now I know that sharing my ups and downs and my growth process can help someone. I also know that I have a system to help others – whether that is with their sourdough skills, overcoming limiting beliefs about themselves, or looking for a second stream of income or better beauty products. I can’t keep hiding from that call to share.
Random Facts…
I am a Canadian
I am Canadian who moved to Idaho for my sophomore year of university, met my (future) husband 2 days before classes started, we were married 8 months later, and I have been stateside ever since. Every time I cross the border and see my prairies and rocky mountains, I feel a sense of HOME. We just celebrated our 15 year anniversary.
Life on the Prairie
My husband has been my biggest supporter and pushes me to do things I never dreamed of. We lived full time on a dry farm in Southeastern Idaho for 5 years. Our closest neighbor was 9 miles down a gravel road. To say we were isolated is an understatement! I will always treasure that time alone with my little family — kickin’ it Little House on the Prairie-style!
Relocating
We re-located to Northern Utah for a short stint 3 years ago, then bought a home and took a huge leap of faith to move our family to the Arizona desert last May. It has been a huge adventure and growing experience and I have loved every second of it. I have fallen hard for the desert!
They Call Me Mama
4 children call me mom. I had 4 babies in 6 years, they are now ages 5-12. I had 3 girls and then got my little boy caboose. I love old, classic names, and all of my children have them! My first priority is to God, my husband, and my babies. I pride myself in being able to prioritize and time block to be able to live life on my terms – being present with my family is something that is at the top of the list.
Always Learning
I LOVE TO LEARN. I am a self-learner, and loved school. I set a goal to get a 4 year degree, which I completed while pregnant with my second baby. I graduated with a BS in psychology with a minor in marriage/family studies. My goal initially was to pursue a Master’s and become a marriage/family counselor. I am grateful for all I learned, as it helps me now leading a team of amazing women.
In My Spare Time
When I am not sharing on here or IG, you will find me reading fluff young adult fiction, trying to get to the mountains or the ocean — where I instantly feel at peace and rejuvenated, tending to my inner yogi, throwing things away, on a zoom call with amazing women I get to call business partners, listening to a podcast/audible/youtube personal development training, or spending time with family by the pool or cuddled up for family movie nights.
Chocolate
I am a chocolatier, or like to think of myself as one! I was taught by my mother, who was taught by her aunt, and it’s something I simply love to do at Christmastime! Homemade candy at Christmas is a deep tradition that I hope to pass on to my own children. I love gifting beautiful food to others, and making chocolates is an extra special one for me.
Align Not Hustle
I am anti-hustle. I have proven to myself that you don’t have to work harder to be more successful. That is the sure path to burnout as an entrepreneur. Using the power of the mind, with some heart, and the right systems and tools, anyone can be successful online right now. I find ways to simplify the process to make it less stressful for those coming behind me. My word of the year is “ALIGN” and it’s been ever present and showing me that once you truly align with all the good you desire, it comes flowing to you.
Dreaming of Rving
My dream is to travel the country in a motorhome with my family and have a home in Hawaii. It WILL happen. I keep planting the seed in my husband’s head, and working like mad to get us there!
If you are still with me after reading all of that, I am thrilled to have you along! Make sure to connect with me via social media, and subscribe to my newsletter!
