Hi, I'm Kels!

The Best Sourdough Glazed Donuts

Kale is the new spinach. Except I don’t like it unless it’s sauteed using my method! Let me show you how to love kale!

Isn’t real food so pretty? Kale is one of those veggies that really is SO incredibly good for you. But it doesn’t taste good. You can’t really gnaw on a leaf of kale and enjoy yourself, let’s be honest. It has a really strong flavor and is best hidden amongst other things.

Don’t tell me I’m not the only one. I know I’m not.

BUT, I have found one way that I love my kale. I usually sautee up a big pan of this 2-3 times a week. It’s such an easy way to get in some greens, and my kids eat it like candy!

I love when I find something that everyone will eat. Bonus points if it’s quick and easy to throw together. We love our sauteed kale with eggs, sweet potatoes, and other veggies in the morning or anytime! It’s also delicious with chicken sausage or thrown into fried rice.

Since I got my Green Pans last summer from Costco, I have been using them every day. Sometimes multiple times a day. They are one of my favorite kitchen items. Check out your local Costco to see if they carry them, or get your own, HERE. I think I need their grilling pan next!

Sautéed Kale
Author: Kelsey
Ingredients
  • Kale – any variety
  • Coconut oil
  • Salt
  • Garlic – optional
Instructions
  1. Remove kale leaves from stalks and throw the stalks away.
  2. Bunch up the kale and cut into bite sized pieces (roughly chop).
  3. Preheat a skillet over medium heat with 1 T coconut oil.
  4. When skillet is hot and oil is melted, add the kale and stir around to coat with oil.
  5. Sprinkle with salt and add a little garlic if desired.
  6. Keep stirring the kale, making sure it doesn’t burn.
  7. Kale will crisp up, but won’t wilt as much as spinach, so just watch for it to get nice and crispy and it’s done!
  8. Eat out of the pan or serve with eggs, sausage, and other veggies.
